Demystifying the NMC for student midwives
The panelists from the NMC and RCM discussed the roles they play in a student midwives' journey and the support both organisations offer.
Dr Jacqui Williams, Senior Midwifery Advisor (Education) and Verena Wallace MBE, Senior Midwifery Adviser (Policy) from the NMC talked about the journey of a registrant of the NMC and how they support midwives throughout their career. They discussed the opportunities available for student midwives, shadowing NMC staff, attending meetings as well as debunking some common myths.
Vicky Richards National Officer Wales talked about the role of the RCM for student midwives , working partnership and the how RCM compliments the NMC. Regional Officer Julia Chandler will delved into the support available to students from the RCM, where they can find guidance at their universities and the continued learning on i-learn required once you become a registered midwife.
