Memcom 2019 Membership Excellence Awards
The RCM has been shortlisted for three awards at the Memcom 2019 Membership Excellence Awards.
These are:
- Membership event of the year - RCM Annual Conference
- Best Student engagement initiative - The Royal College of Midwives Student Midwife Recruitment campaign
- Best Member Engagement Strategy - The Royal College of Midwives RCM Maternity Support Worker Week
Each of these initiatives or events lends themselves to the core of what the RCM does and sets out to achieve.
2018 was a uniquely important year for the midwifery community. We were celebrating 100 years of suffrage, 150 years of the TUC, 70 years of the NHS, and having more women leaders at the top of national healthcare organisations than ever before. It seemed only fitting that the 2018 Conference was about empowering the women who play an invaluable role in our healthcare system.
Equally our recruitment campaign for student midwives and the recognition of maternity support workers during our MSW week were integral to the support we believe should be given to midwives and midwifery professionals at all levels.
With the winners being announced this Thursday, we hope to see the RCM recognised further in its efforts to promote midwifery, quality maternity services and professional standards. However, with the sheer success of each of these initiatives, we feel we have already won in many ways.
