RCM welcomes new measures by Select Committee to hold Government to account

The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) today welcomed the launch of new expert panels by the House of Commons Health & Social Care Select Committee. Sean O’Sullivan, Head of Health and Social Policy at the RCM, said: “This will be a valuable tool for holding the Government to account and to challenge them on any backsliding on their commitments. Too often they announce impressive policies and promises with great fanfare only for them to fade into memory. This novel approach from the committee will challenge that and hold them to account.
