Sustainability - midwifery birth & beyond

The RCM is delighted to be jointly hosting with the INMO, the All Ireland Annual midwifery conference & exhibition at the Fairways Hotel, Dundalk

The theme of this year’s conference focuses on sustainability. This year's International Day of the Midwife celebrated the important theme: 'Midwives: A vital climate solution.' Climate change is one of the most pressing issues facing our planet, affecting not just the environment but also societies around the globe. Sustainability is also much more than an environmental concern and this conference, whilst acknowledging the important contribution of Midwives to environmental issues, will also discuss the important aspects of sustainability of maternity services and midwifery as a profession.

By the end of the conference we will have considered how as midwives we can ensure that we are at the forefront of sustainable development and can truly make a difference to women, babies, their families and the communities in which they live.

In addition, we would encourage you to submit abstracts for a poster presentation with the opportunity to win a prize for the best poster. The conference will have both invited speakers and panel discussions for delegates.
