New members needed for research advisory committee

The charity Wellbeing of Women is looking to appoint new members to its research advisory committee.

The committee is central to the charity’s objectives to improving the lives of women and their babies by funding the best medical research into reproductive health and childbirth.

Responsibilities of the committee are to provide scientific and medical advice to the charity, to assess applications for scholarships, fellowships, project grants and any other Wellbeing of Women awards and to make funding recommendations to the board of trustees. 

The committee is also responsible for assessing ongoing awards and reporting findings to the board of trustees – advising on any necessary course of action, as well as providing guidance on the charity’s research strategy.

Wellbeing of Women is particularly eager to have expressions of interest from individuals with research expertise in gynaecological oncology, human pathology and immunology, midwifery, reproductive endocrinology, urogynaecology, menopause, obstetrics/high-risk pregnancy, psychiatry/maternal mental health, reproductive and genomic epidemiology, reproductive physiology, sexual and reproductive health, and social science.

Anyone looking to make an expression of interest should include a CV and cover letter with their name, region, position, institution, RCOG membership number (if applicable), email address, professional interests and details of other funding committees they sit on/have previously sat on.
