Join the RCM Forum in i-learn
Learn moreMeet with members in your branch and local area on our e-learning platform i-learn. We have created a bespoke environment for early career midwives to network with other midwives and RCM activists. Here you can find mentors, a support network and friends that will help you through your first few years.
How to get more active in your branch
Learn moreRCM activists are branch officers, workplace representatives and MSW advocates that are part of a network that is supported by regional/national officers and organisers as well as RCM staff in headquarters and the country offices. Without these individuals who are willing to give their time and energies the RCM would struggle to provide a service at the point of need.
Different roles in activism
Learn moreRepresenting and supporting members is a demanding role, which carries with it hard work and serious responsibilities. The role is very satisfying, especially when you are able to win a fair deal for our members. The skills that you gain as a workplace rep will assist you in your career and will also aid your personal and professional development.

Learn moreYoung workers are most likely to be in insecure work, in low paid jobs and without opportunities to progress at work than any other age group. Unions mean better pay, secure jobs and training on the job, yet very few young workers are in unions. We can change that.
