Caring for you in Cardiff RCM Branch

Cardiff RCM Branch has been very active on the Health and Safety front especially around staff wellbeing! Staff welfare is at the forefront of the branch and it is supported by the RCM's Caring for You Campaign. Activity has been so busy in Cardiff the branch has elected two more H&S reps to support the existing rep, Claire Swallow.

Over the last couple of months, the branch has helped to organise and promote a number of activities. In September there was a very successful "Party in the Park" (which turned into "lunch in a pub" due to the in-climate Welsh weather) organised by RCM members Cara Moore and Chelsea Thomas-Hamblin. Claire Swallow has organised a Christmas Shopping Trip to Bicester to kick off this year's Christmas season and staff yoga classes are recommencing in December with RCM member Nicola Williams.

One of the most successful groups is "Miri's Maternity Ramblers" which now boasts nearly 130 members. This exceptionally motivated rambling group seems to always to be on a continual ramble come rain or shine and is led by RCM member Miriam Coad. As stated on Miriam’s Facebook page for staff, "Welcome to Miri's Maternity Ramblers (that's walkers not talkers). Come and explore beautiful Wales with me!" Miriam grades the walks as easy, medium and hard so staff can choose the ones that suit them.
