The RCM annual midwifery conference has won gold for the ‘Best free to attend conference’ award at the annual UK Conference Awards today.

The RCM conference also won silver for the ‘Best event re-vamp or re-launch’ award.

The already multi-award-winning RCM annual conference and exhibition took place on 31 October to 1 November 2017 at Manchester Central.

For the first time ever, the 2017 event was completely free to attend for delegates.

The conference featured the usual high-quality conference programme with speakers including Call the midwife star Stephen McGann and Hana Pauls from One born every minute, in addition to educational sessions from midwives on everything from trauma treatment to leadership.

The event exceeded all expectations, with 3300 delegate registrations within 72 hours of launching the event for registrations.

Director for services to members Suzanne Tyler said: ‘This really is a fantastic achievement for Redactive who designed and delivered yet another tremendous conference last year for the RCM.

‘Their work behind the scenes and their efforts across the year ensure the RCM’s annual conference is the best it can be for our members. I wish to congratulate all the team at Redactive for their well deserved win.’
