The Scottish Government has announced the appointment of Justine Craig as the new Chief Midwifery Officer for Scotland.

Commenting on Justine’s appointment, Jon Skewes, Executive Director for External Relations at the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), said: “The RCM knows Justine Craig well and we are delighted to hear of her appointment.

“We look forward to working with her to support efforts to deliver the safest and best possible care for women, babies and their families in Scotland, and to also support midwives, maternity support workers and the wider maternity workforce to do that.

“The timing of Justine’s appointment is also fortuitous as the RCM has just appointed Jaki Lambert as its new Director for Scotland starting in early 2022. I am sure Jaki will also welcome this announcement and will look forward to working collaboratively and constructively with Justine for the benefit of women and maternity staff.”
